So today was my first day of class, and it was WONDERFUL! The campus is gorgeous. I didn't have class until 1, but a couple of us got there early and explored for a while. The old campus (which dates back to 1450) is literally like a castle. We actually found a spiral staircase that just led up to some offices. WHO GETS THOSE OFFICES AND HOW CAN I BEFRIEND THAT PERSON?? Here are some (lots of) pictures of the old campus, complete with some close-ups of the fantastic details.

The main tower, oldest building on campus. |
The west (or east?) quad. |
The arcade. |
We found this above one of the entrances from the quad...a) that's a department? b) it gets a spot on the old campus?? |
We grabbed a quick lunch at one of the university cafes, and then I went to my Medieval Celtic Civilization class, which sounds pretty great (first non-science/art class I've taken in...a while.) After class a few of us went to the Kelvingrove Art Museum (which is about 5 minutes from campus, has free admission, and a pretty extensive collection of art (rennaissance to post impressionism) and natural history. AND AWESOME KIDS ACTIVITIES!) Pics!

Ian, Camila, and Me. In case you've forgotten what I look like already, I'm the one on the left. No, right. |
There are floating heads in one gallery of the museum...odd but cool? |

The Kelvingrove Art Museum (with Karin, Camila, and I in front). |
A Haggis. That's right. Factoid: According to myth, a haggis has legs that are shorter on one side than the other, so it can run around hills more easily. |
Karin playing in the children's tunnels. |
Ian as Sleeping Beauty. |
Me as the Prince that saves the day. |
Oh, sidebar: At dinner a kitchen attendant I'd never seen before approached me and asked "are you the one with celiacs?" Because they made an entirely separate meal for me. Lovely, right? Except how did he know who I was?? I'm now convinced they have a poster with my face on it in the kitchen.
Now I'm off to the gym I think. Unlike campus, it's actually close!
Pooh quote: "Do a Good thing to Do without thinking about it."
Much love,
-Erin
