The People's Palace

Today was a good day. Class from one until two, and then Camila and I took the subway (which is just a giant circle) into the city centre. From there we walked to the People's Palace, which is apparently closed on Mondays. Oh well. There is a really lovely park around it, and we found a "winter garden" which was small but very pretty. After that we walked back and I hung around at a Starbucks (which had absolutely delicious gluten free hazelnut-dark chocolate cake!) until 6, when I had volleyball. Volleyball was fun! The girls are good but not too competitive. Looking forward to doing that monday nights. Only problem being that I miss dinner, but I was totally prepared. Had tuna fish and crackers in my room. One small glitch- the tuna fish, as it turns out, requires a can opener. So I found a yogurt and improvised. Current mission: find a can opener. Also: have more intelligence.

Pictures!

It has a feather drawn into it!! Coffee makes me happy.

City centre.

Outside the People's Palace.

The Scottish Flag.

Stalker shot of a biker in the park. It was such a perfect picture! Don't judge me.

The park. Note: blue skies. No rain.

The "winter garden."

The Glasgow School of Art, with me in front. Starting classes there tomorrow!

The "uni" (that's what students here call it) at night.
Factoid: During the medieval period, the term "Scotti" actually refers to the residents of Ireland, not Britain.

Pooh quote: "When you get a sinking feeling, don't worry, it's probably because you're hungry."

Much love,
Erin

  1. 1) knew 'scotti'
    2) does the fact that you have to point out when there's no rain mean that it is raining in all of the other pictures?
